Nashville– Pre-opening sales for the Music City Center now 600,000 room nights, bringing it closer to an internal goal of booking one million room nights for the 1.2 million-square-foot convention complex prior to its opening in 2013, according to the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau. Two months ago the CVB announced having reached 500,000 room nights, representing the half-way mark in pre-booking activities, and indicating the goal will be reached if bookings continue apace.

 St. Charles, MO—In its first full-year, the St. Charles Convention Center has exceeded expectations, with bookings outpacing initial budgeted projections for meetings/events by an estimated 65 percent. According to Global Spectrum, managers of the venue, the St. Charles Convention Center ended 2006 with gross revenues of over $4.2 million, which exceeded projections by 44 percent.

 Greater Fort Lauderdale, FL—If the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau were a sports team, 2006 would be declared its repeat championship year. Two years running, this Florida tourist and meetings destination welcomed more than 10 million visitors and an in fact the actual 2006 number beat the 2005 visitation figures, which was already a record for the CVB.
