The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International celebrated its 17th annual Affordable Meetings National program September 6  7 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C., attracting an impressive 1,556 qualified meeting planners and 475 exhibiting companies occupying 532 booths. In addition, there appeared to be upbeat economic outlook among attendees regarding the meeting forecast for next year.Washington, D.C.—With its largest event of the year, The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) celebrated its 17th annual Affordable Meetings® National program  September 6 – 7 at the Washington Convention Center. The organization’s final convention in its annual trio of large scale meeting planner events—which include the  HSMAI’s Affordable Meetings® Mid-America that took place in March at Navy Pier in Chicago and HSMAI’s Affordable Meetings® West in June 14-15 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California—the Washington D.C. event attracted  an impressive 1,556 qualified meeting planners and 475 exhibiting companies occupying 532 booths.
