Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Amish Country, is as known as for its many historical attractions, unique entertainment facilities as well as a growing and dynamic downtown. In 2009 Lancaster, thanks to the “Lancaster Duo” will soon have the meeting space and accommodations to complete its destination appeal.
The Lancaster Duo is the Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square, a $170 million hotel & convention complex currently under construction. The Duo is scheduled to open Spring 2009, and both venues will be managed by—Interstate Hotels & Resorts, the 13th managed Pennsylvania property in the IHR portfolio. The Lancaster Duo is anticipated to further spur the revitalization of Lancaster and is considered one of the most important regional economic development projects in decades.

Several great meeting and convention prospects are already in the works.”
The new, integrated Lancaster Duo of both the convention center and adjoining 300-room hotel, represent a combined 90,000 square feet of meeting space. Unique from traditional northeast meeting locations, Lancaster blends the convenience of being centrally located to the metropolitan cities of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York, with a fresh sophistication.
With more than 48,000 square feet of unobstructed meeting and exhibit space and two ballrooms of more than 9,000 square feet each, The Lancaster County Convention Center offers meeting planners abundant, flexible space for groups of a wide variety of sizes. The convention center and hotel provide savvy travelers with the latest state-of-the-future, high-tech amenities.
Lancaster’s downtown district includes the Fulton Theatre (the nation’s oldest continuously operating theater) People’s Place, Quilt Museum and numerous restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. Within a short drive of the new convention center & hotel complex are upscale shopping outlets, Clipper Stadium— Atlantic League baseball team, the Barnstormers —American Music Theatre,HERSHEYPARK and
