Austin, TX—The two-in-one concept officially entered the meeting hotel industry in September when Austin, Texas became the home of one hotel with two name brands: The Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott. At a grand opening event, J. W. Marriott, Jr., chairman and CEO of Marriott International, Inc. and Mayor Will Wynn of Austin, joined Roger Radtke, general manager of the new facility, local officials and over 300 invited guests for the grand opening of this new hotel concept: “Two Unique Brands, One Extraordinary Hotel.”
The two-in-one hotel features Marriott’s stylish, new design and plush bedding. For the business traveler, spacious guest rooms feature state-of-the-art technology and services, including: complimentary wired and wireless high-speed internet access; large desks with ample workspace, an ergonomic desk chair, no-glare lighting, in-room coffee and tea service, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, a complimentary copy of USA Today and a 24-hour business center. The new hotel also features a 4,400-square-foot Champions Restaurant and Sports Bar, Austin’s first outdoor electronic Ticker Tape, which wraps around the outside of the building as well as seven meeting rooms and a board room totaling 6,600 square feet of meeting space a Grand Ballroom with views of downtown Austin and the Roof Top Terrace.
