Spokane, WA—After more than 30 years of showcasing arts and entertainment for Spokane and the Inland Northwest, the Spokane Opera House will be changing its name. The Spokane Public Facilities District (SPFD) and Inland Northwest Bank announced in May that the venerable concert hall will now be known as the INB Performing Arts Center.
As a growing regional bank, we are proud to invest in this legacy landmark and support the cultural and economic vitality of the Inland Northwest, said Randall L. Fewel, president/CEO of Inland Northwest Bank. The INB Performing Arts Center brings together two Inland Northwest originals to enrich peoples lives through the performing arts.
This is a tremendous time for this great facility, said Rick LaFleur, board chair, SPFD. The improvements that the District made in the last year were necessary to carry the venue forward. With the gracious support of INB, we are now able to move on renovations to make the INB Performing Arts Center truly spectacular.
Kevin Twohig, executive director of the SPFD, outlined a list of improvements to begin this summer including remodeled, larger restrooms; a new marquee on Spokane Falls Boulevard; and extensive site work at the INB Performing Arts Center making the area more attractive and pedestrian-friendly. The elegant 2,700-seat venue is adaptable for symphony concerts, ballet, grand opera, road shows, country and rock music spectaculars, musical stage productions, travelogues, conventions and lectures.
