Seattle — Key Arena may still be physically part of the Seattle Center, a complex that also includes Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at Seattle Center, but the 15,500 arena now has its own online presence. Seattle Center and AEG Facilities have launched the Key’s first first ever, exclusively dedicated website – www.KeyArena.com.
"We had two main goals in the design of the first ever site for KeyArena: first, to interact with the viewer and improve their ticket purchasing experience," said Stevi Boskovich, Marketing Manager, KeyArena. "And secondly, to build a user interface that is equal parts informative and entertaining."
The website features a colorful backdrop of the Seattle city skyline and is designed as a full service portal for patrons, fans and visitors. Special features include: On the Spot Interactive Seating; Facebook Integration allowing website visitors to add and comment on events through their Facebook Profiles; Quick updates of upcoming events and event news; Virtual Video Library; Contesting System to allow website visitors to win tickets to upcoming KeyArena events; Easy-to-use navigation and compatibility with the latest web browsers and mobile devices.
The new website is not an easy-to-access tool for audiences and potential audience members for events, but creates an online follwing for the facility itself. "Our charge from the beginning was to create an emotionally engaging experience that represents the long history that KeyArena has as the home of sports and entertainment in Seattle," said James Sack, President of Carbonhouse, Inc., designers of the site.
The new, exclusive website comes at an opportune time for this Northwest Stage. The venue is expected to host more than 100 events in 201, an increase of at least 20 events over the previous year. In addition, bigger stars and some of this year’s top touring acts have now booked this Seattle venue, including Billy Joel/Elton John, Bon Jovi,Jeff Foxworthy/Bill Engvall/Larry The Cable Guy, WWE presents ECW/Smackdown Live, John Mayer, Michael Bublé, and James Taylor & Carole King.
