Motor Coach Tour Operator, Pathway Tours of London Ontario has entered into an agreement with the Warren County Tourism Department for a late spring Lake George group-event. Entitled "Shake on the Lake," to be held in May, the pre-planned tour features a special concert at nearby Saratoga Performing Arts Center and ample opportunities for attendees to experience the Lake George region at the peak of its Springtime Splendor.
More than 4,000 participants—originating from tour operators in the U.S. and Canda—are anticipated to be "Shaking" on The Lake in May. The package includes lodging at Lake George/Glens Falls Area hotels, luncheon and dinner cruises on the lake, sightseeing on Prospect Mountain Memorial Highway and shopping at area outlets and malls. Situated in upstate New York, just 50 miles north of Albany, nestled in the panoramic heart of the Adirondacks, the Lake George region features more than 400,000 square feet of versatile meeting space.
"We brought the Shake on the Lake Tour to the area in 2004 and 2005 and will continue to bring it to the Lake George Area because it seems to be a perfect fit for our groups. There’s always plenty to see and do and we expect there will be lots of time to wander through the communities during a lovely time of year," stated Bob Van Kleek, President of Pathway Tours.
The highlight of the tours will be a concert by Irish Tenor, Daniel O’Donnell and Mary Duff at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center May 24th. According to the American Bus Association, each overnight motor coach tour injects $12,000 into the local economy. Based on a conservative estimate of the number of tours buses to book "Shake on the Lake," the total impact of these tours are expected to exceed $900,000.
