Sands Resorts, a premier meetings and vacation complex of six properties in Myrtle Beach, south Carolina is completing improvements and renovations to its Sands Resorts’ Conference Center. "We strive to provide the most up-to-date equipment and services for meetings and these changes will enhance the more than 20,000 square feet of function space," said Florence Collins, Vice President of Marketing at Sands Resorts.

The extensive upgrades—which feature interior and exterior makeovers as well as installation of cutting-edge meeting technology—are taking place in a two-phased process. The first phase, now completed include webcam broadcasting capabilities, LCD monitors, and a new audio system. In addition, two new board rooms, for more intimate meetings of 10-15 attendees were added. Also in 2008, the conference center received a refreshing new color scheme, pressed tin ceilings and marble accent walls, and new carpeting. The second phase is scheduled for completion in spring 2009 and includes a new business center, an executive boardroom for groups up to 20.

The Conference Center improvements are complimented by other changes made throughout the adjoining Sand Dunes Resort Hotel and Ocean Dunes Resort & Villas. Guests now have access to wireless Internet throughout the resorts as well as newly renovated lobbies and restaurants, including Mango's on the Beach, an oceanfront restaurant and lounge with pool deck and live entertainment.

In addition to the conference center, other meeting facilities at the Sands Resort include the Ocean Forest Plaza, with two function rooms, offering 1,000+ square feet of flexible meeting, banquet and exhibit space , hospitality suites and a dedicated Conference Service and Catering staff; the Sands Ocean Club, which features 8,300 + square feet of flexible meeting, banquet and exhibit space with breakout rooms; and the Sands Beach Club, with three meeting rooms and 1,900+ square feet of flexible meeting, banquet and exhibit space.

Sands Resorts includes over 1,650 guest rooms at its six-oceanfront properties. All are located close to one another at the northern end of Myrtle Beach, and they are convenient to area golf, dining, shopping, and attractions. The destination also offers an on-site waterpark; indoor/outdoor pools and whirlpools; Atlantis Spa; oceanfront dining and lounges; Sands Health Club; massage therapy; on-staff PGA Professional; Concierge Services; and Sands Kids Club activity program with evening childcare.
