 Now everyday can be St. Patrick’s Day at Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa, a Marriott Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, has completed a long and extensive renovation program topped off by the opening of Kelly’s Pub, a warm, friendly Irish tavern with classic pub favorites, hand-carved sandwiches and great whiskey & beer selections. Now, meeting attendees have a new place to toast Sawgrass, a world-renowned meetings, conventions, golf, spa and beach destination.

Kelly’s Pub, (located at the former site of Champs Sports Bar), accompanied an expanded and refreshed lobby, which included an addition of a Lobby Bar, creating more guests to meet and relax. With the Lobby improvements and Kelly’s, which opened in January, the venue completed a $16 million dollar renovation of its guest rooms and meeting space.

"In addition to our recent complete guestroom upgrade, Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa is continuing to deliver a new level of luxury and service through a lobby expansion and construction of an Irish bar," said Jeff Kmiec, director of sales and marketing. "The lively and interactive living room setting of the lobby and classic pub atmosphere of Kelly's Pub creates a social and engaging experience for guests."

The new design of lobby creates an upscale and urban atmosphere for networking with an open environment and a variety of seating and meeting areas. Designed for the 24/7 work patterns of today’s business travelers and meeting attendees who’s days (and nights) combine work, relaxation, socializing and play. The new Lobby Bar  accentuatestheatmosphere with hand crafted drinks, cocktail party snacks and a lively interactive living room setting.

   Completed in 2006, the $16 million guest room renovations transformed the rooms into the Marriott Revivestyle. Each room incorporates a fine collection of contemporary wood furnishings and distinctive silver light fixtures, amidst a backdrop of delicately blended earth tones in the new carpet, wall and window treatments and coordinated artwork. More spacious workspace and plasma TV completed the renovation.

The 2006 renovation included upgrades to the extensive meeting space available at Sawgrass. The venue features 56,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including   Champions Ballroom (16,000 square feet);  Masters Ballroom (8,000 square feet);  Heritage Ballroom (4,000 square feet); Tournament Hall, which features  12,500 square feet of dedicated exhibition space and Island Green Pavilion, with 5,100 square feet of outdoor space. In addition, Sawgrass features two conference rooms and two executive boardrooms.

Other meeting services and attendee amenities available at Sawgrass include: private meeting entrance and reception desk; fully equipped business center; meeting-planner office; high-speed Internet access in all rooms; satellite and ISDN video conferencing ; LCD projection equipment;   Private house phones in each meeting room and Creative team-building activities.

Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa guestroom renovations coincided with a $40 million improvement program at the TPC Sawgrass, home to the famed Stadium Course, where The PLAYERS Championship, the PGA Tour's flagship event is played.
