The music may not be louder, but when in comes to concert attendance and revenue, the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis pumped up the volume in 2007. The venue signed a multi-year, concert and event promotions partnership agreement with AEG Facilities in October. During the three month period ending 2007, the venue welcomed more than 100,000 concertgoers, making 2007 the best live entertainment year for the arena since its 1999 opening.
As a result of the new affiliation with AEG, which included the ongoing concert series program—Your Exclusive Access, which offers concert goers premium seating & amenities—the Conseco Fieldhouse played host to some of the biggest tours of 2007; including the Van Halen Reunion Tour, the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana 'Best of Both Worlds' tour, comedian Dane Cook's 'Rough Around the Edges' tour and The Who's "Endless Wire' tour. The year also featured noteworthy and diverse performances by John Mellencamp, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Blue Man Group, Keith Urban, Celtic Woman, So You Think You Can Dance , George Strait, and High School Musical on Tour.
"We aggressively pursued new partnerships in 2007, highlighted by our agreement with AEG Facilities, and strengthened our relationships with existing promoters," said Rick Fuson, Executive Vice President of Pacers Sports & Entertainment. "The results have been overwhelming and has sparked a renewed interest in Conseco Fieldhouse that directly impacts us, but also impacts our city."
Indeed, as Fuson points out, the excitement and energy taking place on the arena stage translated into an economic infusion city-wide. "Conseco Fieldhouse has served as a literal and figurative cornerstone to downtown development and the continued success and growth of Indianapolis tourism," said Bob Schultz, Director of Communications, Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association. "From major sporting events to concerts, even serving as the primary convention venue for such groups as the National FFA Organization, the Fieldhouse has been one of our most important assets in drawing visitors to Indianapolis."
"Concerts at Conseco Fieldhouse directly affect Downtown Indianapolis' economy in a very positive manner," said Tamara Zahn, President of Indianapolis Downtown Inc. "The business level in hotels, restaurants, parking, and retail benefit from the added foot traffic and customer spending."
In 2008, Conseco Fieldhouse expects to further strengthen its reputation as the main Hoosier State Stage. The arena will host major touring artist, including: Celine Dion, Dancing with the Stars (featuring Helio Castroneves), Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Chris Brown, Reba McEntire, and TobyMac & Jeremy Camp.
"We are thrilled with the momentum that we have going and are looking forward to concerts at our venue in 2008," added Fuson |
