Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta has just gotten into the remote sky cap business. The service, offered through Baggage Airline Guest Services (BAGS, Inc), headquartered in Orlando, FL, and available at several meeting venues, offers complete bag service at the meeting site—issuing boarding passes, checking luggage and delivering the luggage to designated flight—reducing the time meeting travelers spend at the airport and increasing the time they can remain at an event.
"We're so happy to be able to offer this service to our out of town guests," said Mark Zimmerman, General Manager, Georgia World Congress Center. "This is just another way for us to offer excellent customer service to our visitors."
Airlines participating in the BAGS program at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport include: Delta, American and AirTran. For $10 attendees can check their baggage in the main lobby of the Georgia World Congress Center and they will receive their boarding pass before they leave the center. "Carrying luggage can be burdensome and BAGS will make the last day of the show so much easier for attendees," added Zimmerman.
The True Value Fall Show held in October was the first event to utilize this new service. The four day trade show, open only to owners and buyers of True Value Hardware stores, attracted an estimated 13,000 attendees, most of whom travel to Atlanta by air. "We were delighted to see the BAGS program up and running for our members," said Susan Katz, Director of Corporate Events, True Value. "This is a great service that is offered at a reasonable price for those that are departing directly from the center to the airport. It makes the trip home so much easier."
