Hershey, Pennsylvania may be famous for chocolate, but it is quickly becoming a high-tech destination for small-to-mid-size meetings. One of its prime meeting locations, The Hershey Lodge has just completed a $2.2 million, 2,350-square-feet conference and meeting space addition, spearheaded by a state-of-the-art meeting room, the Cocoa Boardroom.
This new 9,500-square-foot, fixed-table conference room, which is connected to the venue’s existing Cocoa Suites, features a 65-inch plasma screen with touch-screen capabilities; ten 15-inch LCD monitors that rise from each seat at the meeting table when ready to be used; wireless and wired Internet access; and motorized, automated draperies.
"We want to stay competitive in the corporate and association meetings market," said Bill Liedholm, general manager of the Lodge. "In order to do so, we needed to reconfigure our most popular meeting area on our property, and that’s the Cocoa Suites."
In addition, the expansion included the 1,400-square-foot Cocoa Terrace, a mini-board room and meeting space that is connected to the Cocoa Suites, and can be separated by a movable wall. The Cocoa Terrace features natural light from windows and doors that open to the re-landscaped patio, the Cocoa Courtyard, usable for receptions and other functions.
The expansion adds to the more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space at Hershey Lodge, which now has 35 meeting rooms. The venue also has 665 guest rooms. The Hershey Lodge is part of Hershey Resorts, which includes the Hotel Hershey with 230 guest rooms, more than 20,000 square feet of meeting and function space, and a 30,000 square-foot Spa that offers signature chocolate treatments; and the Hershey Country Club, which offers more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and function space, including an all-season pavilion that overlooks its golf courses. |
