Scottsdale, AZ—James Bond would not feel out of place attending a meeting in the new Red Rock Boardroom at the Canyon Suites at the Phoenician. Click a remote and eight flat screen monitors emerge from a custom-designed mahogany conference table; click another button, three in-room cameras swivel into place, ready for video conferencing. Another click, the canvas painting rolls away revealing a plasma monitor. Since technology works best in a meeting environment with a human touch, the venue also has a dedicated "Event Technology Butler" to press the right the right buttons for the meeting presenter.
The Red Rock Boardroom is a cornerstone in the $5.5 million renovation of The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, making it one of the most impressive boardroom type conference spaces in the country. Officially re-introduced March 1, The Canyon Suites is now an exclusive boutique "hotel within a hotel" offering exceptional, personalized services and tailored amenities tucked amid the 250 acres of The Phoenician resort and conference center.
"When we were looking at enhancing The Canyon Suites' physical facility, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to elevate the entire experience, creating a more intimate service environment for our guests," said Mark Vinciguerra, managing director and general manager of The Phoenician. "From the new Red Rock Boardroom to the exquisite new décor and level of attentive services, as part of Starwood's Luxury Collection, we were guided by the core values to offer an 'indigenous, exceptional, experience’."
The Red Rock Boardroom with its service and presentation oriented high-tech accoutrements can enhance any meeting attendee experience. With 24 high-back butter-soft leather armchairs, conference attendees are seated in comfort yet have access to wireless Internet, data and a video routing system are all controllable through a touch-screen remote.
"In the Red Rock Boardroom, the technology is paramount," Vinciguerra emphasized. For example, when a presenter uses the SMART board, it is similar to seeing a Monday Night Football commentator making X's and O's on the screen. From there, boardroom attendees can use the plasma as a touch screen; they can mark up their presentations, print out the notes or download the changes to their laptop during the meeting."
First opened in 1996, The Canyon Suites is a free-standing building literally situated in the most scenic locale of The Phoenician resort grounds, at the base of Camelback Mountain. Planners looking for a unique, upscale and private spot for a corporate retreat will find The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician to be an ideal destination. For overnight guests, the building has 38 luxury suites; 20 standard Grand Deluxe rooms that can each be connected to a suite, plus two 3,000-square-foot Canyon Presidential Suites, for a total of 60 guestrooms. "From the moment a guest of The Canyon Suites arrives, a personal Phoenician Ambassador attends to every step of his or her itinerary down to the most finite detail," Vinciguerra said.
The Phoenician, an AAA Five-Diamond luxury resort destination, features 250 acres of lush desert terrain and manicured grounds at the base of Camelback Mountain. The 647-room resort features 64,000 square feet of total meeting space. |
