Boston, MA—Located next to Faneuil Hall, one of Boston’s most famous hotels will undergo a major renovation to increase its meeting and business traveler appeal. The Millennium Bostonian has announced a $14 million improvement project that includes guest room redesigns, a new restaurant and an additional 3,000 square feet of meeting space. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2007.
"After renovation, our hotel will offer the features and ambiance expected by business travelers and meeting planners from a four-star property," John D. Murtha, general manager. "Although contemporary in nature, the project's design still remains true to our Boston heritage and provides guests with an experience that exceeds that of our competition."
Among the highlights of the renovation is a new looking The Millennium Boston’s 201 guest rooms. Designed by Jinnie Kim, a much-in-demand designer who has also worked with the Fairmont Copley Plaza, the St. Regis and The Plaza in New York. The rooms will feature the "Millennium Bed" with duvets and 300-thread-count linens, flat screen TV’s, laptop safes and a muted earth tone décor accented by photography and artwork celebrating Boston. All new bathrooms, with tubs set against relief scenes of the city and separate shower stalls plus elegant furnishings and fabrics, stone floor entryways, wood paneling and crown molding are other attractions of the new rooms
The space currently occupied by Seasons Restaurant will become a 3,000-square foot functional space designed to significantly enhance the hotel’s appeal for meetings, social groups, weddings, receptions and special events. Other enhancements include wi-fi availability in public spaces, upgraded Internet connections and phone lines throughout the hotel and a new property management system to better understand and serve the hotel’s frequent guests.
Complementing the changes at the Bostonian will be a newly opened Hard Rock Café and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, situated between the hotel and Boston’s North End, offering open space with gardens.
The Millennium Bostonian Hotel is part of Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR), the North American arm of London-based Millennium and Copthorne Hotels plc (MLC).
