| Tinley Park Convention Center Begins Expansion | | Monday, 19 April 2010 | | Convention Center/CVB News | The Tinley Park Convention Center will soon double in size. In April, Tinley Park officials broke ground on much anticipated project, which effectively doubles the size of the current facility, adding an additional 24,000 square feet of clear-span exhibit space and bringing the total contiguous exhibit space to over 58,000 square feet.

The facility hosted 38 events—which totaled 40 event days—during the month, making March the most successful Month—in terms of event revenue and attendance in the venue’s nearly 10 year history (the Swiftel celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2011).
| | read more |  | |  | | San Diego Acquires Land Needed to Super-Size Convention Center | | Friday, 16 April 2010 | | Convention Center/CVB News | After more than 18 months of study, review and evaluation of a feasibility of venue expansion, the San Diego Convention Center finally has gotten the land it requires to increase its size by about a third. The Unified Port of San Diego has authorized the transfer of six acres of land from the nearby, Super-Yacht marina, Fifth Avenue Landing, to San Diego Convention Center Corporation (SDCCC).
