 Indianapolis—After much discussion and anticipation, Indiana officials unveiled the design for the expansion of the Indiana Convention Center, with construction due to start in the summer of 2008—after the demolition of the RCA Dome. The new design made its debut at the meeting of the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority (ISCBA)  in June. 

 The first day of summer this year marked the one year anniversary of the Westin Boston Waterfront. Having enjoyed a 90 percent occupancy rate in its freshman year of business, the venue has decided to give itself and its guests a birthday present of an additional 45,000 square feet of meeting space and three restaurants, scheduled to open in March 2008. "We are pleased with a solid occupancy as we celebrate our one-year anniversary," said David Connor, General Manager. "We are excited to already be expanding our facilities after only a year in operation."

 Fueling both a revitalization of Niagara Falls, N.Y, and a reinvention of the city as a northeast meetings destination has been the Conference Center Niagara Falls. This $ 18.8 million, 116,000-square-foot facility, which features a 19,500-square-foot Learning Center, the 10,500 square foot Cascades Ballroom, a 32,200-square-foot Event Center and 15 high-tech Meeting Rooms, opened in 2004 and since then Niagara Falls has been on an upswing.

 Meeting attendees at a conference center officially opening in June will have an official golf pro at their disposal. Ron Leporati has been appointed Head Golf Professional for the "Old Course" at Bedford Springs Resort, the historic, Benchmark Hospitality International property in Bedford, Pennsylvania.
