Leading organizations representing the meetings, events and incentive travel industries have united to issue guidelines on acceptable business travel practices to companies that have received emergency government lending. The guidelines, built upon existing corporate best practices, are designed to ensure transparency and accountability and protect the one million American jobs supported by corporate meetings and events.

CARINO Hotels & Resorts, a world-wide hotel sales company that controls dozens of hotels in North America, representing more than 460,000 square feet of meeting and conference center space, recently announced a new name, new marketing and new staff members at its 7th Annual Global Conference. Highlights of the event included: a client tradeshow & reception for CARINO member hotels and top travel professionals; a review of the brand’s growth and accomplishments in 2008; and breakout sessions with one-on-one meetings with member hotels to discuss new opportunities for 2009.

Rare enough that a conference lasts for four decades, even rarer that that the meeting not only is hosted by the same venue but that the organizers declare that after 40 years they plan to stay. That’s exactly the case for the "40th Annual Cardiovascular Conference at Snowmass," held in January—at the Silver Tree Hotel & Snowmass Conference Center, in Snowmass, Colorado.
