The venue has officially opened for business the new 105,000- square-foot Cypress Ballroom, which is five times the size of the White House, larger than a football field and would require an estimated 1.8 billion golf balls (if you wanted to measure the ballroom by filling it with golf balls, that is)— the new Cypress Ballroom can seat as many as 9,000 attendees in rounds of 10, or 13,000 theatre-style. Together with the Palms Ballroom, it provides 150,000 square feet of contiguous, pillar-free carpeted meeting space and more than 50,000 square feet of pre-function space. The Cypress Ballroom brings the flexible meeting/event space at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center up to an astounding 450,000 square-feet (the venue also has 2,000 guest rooms and suites, 10 restaurants and lounges, an 18-hole championship golf course, a full-service spa and fitness center, and a million-gallon pool complex).
