Shura Lindgren, General Manager of the Saint Charles Convention Center, a Global-Spectrum managed facility in Saint Charles, Missouri, received the 1st Annual ZONTA Saint Charles Yellow Rose Award for her efforts in community service as a "Woman of Influence" in Saint Charles County. Since the Saint Charles Convention Center opened in 2005, Lindgren has encouraged the Global Spectrum staff to participate in at least one philanthropic activity each year. In 2007, those efforts led the Global Spectrum staff led to 100-percent full-time staff participation in this initiative through Global Spectrum Charities.
ZONTA International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. Nearly 33,000 members belong to more than 1,200 ZONTA Clubs in 66 countries and geographic areas. ZONTA Saint Charles, established in 1962, is one of the longest standing clubs of ZONTA International with a strong reputation for community projects that support the ZONTA Mission. "One of the many reasons Shura was chosen for this award is that she encourages her staff to give back to the community through the Global Spectrum Charities initiative," said Brenda Fraser, President, ZONTA Saint Charles.
"I have always believed that the ability to give back to your profession or community is really the byproduct of the love and support of your family, friends, staff, and employer," said Lindgren.
