
The official opening of La Torretta Del Lago Resort & Spa in Montgomery, Texas has been postponed to November. 1. However, the property will still serves Site for Society of American Travel Writers Post Conference Trip in the latter half of October.
The opening of of La Torretta Del Lago Resort & Spa—in Montgomery, Texas—just one hour north of downtown Houston—has been slightly delayed due to damage from Hurricane Ike. However, a few days after Ike, construction soon resumed on this 445-room venue—which also includes 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space, 17,500-square-foot spa, 10,000-square-foot fitness center and championship golf course. Unfortunately, the weather event has delayed the official opening of luxury, lakefront resort and its golf course—initially scheduled for mid-October—to November 1, 2008. Beginning October 22nd, however, La Torretta Del Lago Resort & Spa will be providing a special three-night, pre-opening preview for members of the Society of American Travel Writers in conjunction with their annual conference, taking place in Houston this year. “We were fortunate to have been spared the brunt of the storm, and by acting fast and decisively, have been able to significantly minimize construction delays,” said,Ronnie Ben-Zur, CEO of French Quarter Hospitality, owners/managers of the property. “Our heart goes out to those less fortunate who were impacted severely by Hurricane Ike.”
