
Two Famous Universal "Monsters," known for their green skin, joined in the Earth Day festivities celebrating the Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando Resort becoming certified members of the Florida Green Lodging program today. This voluntary program encourages hotels And motels to adopt cost-saving 'green' practices that reduce waste, conserve natural resources and prevent pollution. "Our hotels are among the largest and busiest in Central Florida, so every step we take to be environmentally responsible and conserve energy has a major impact," said LaRuffa. "Meeting planners will find our 'green' practices help to reduce the environmental footprint of group meetings and events in a way that creates positive energy for the company with both employees and customers." All three Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando—Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando (85,000 square feet of meeting space); Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando (42,000 square feet of meeting space) and the Hard Rock Hotel (6,000 square feet of meeting space) were certified green.
