
Although he may not wear a hat on a snowy New York City day, Steve Sackman, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Destinations Hotels & Resorts, wears many hats. Meeting with Facilitiesonline, he mentioned some of the exciting initiatives taking place at Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center, and Tarrytown House Estate & Conference Center, the two Destinations Hotels & Resorts properties for which he is responsible. Among the initiatives has been two East Coast meeting venues taking the lead in Destination Earth, a company wide "green" program that reduces waste and energy usage. His other hat is as Chair of the Marketing Committee, International Association of Conference Centers, where he is not just involved with that organizations Green Task Force, but his making marketing use of the input from the new "Millennial" Board Associate Members, creating programs appealing to the unique perspectives of the Generation X/Y Meeting Planners and Venue Managers. In addition, Sackman discussed the soon to be announced "re-branding" program by the International Association of Conference Centers that will result in a "make-over" of the look and feel of logos, websites and other materials produced by the organization
