Aloha to Chicago: Hawaii Convention Center Celebrates Lei Day

Wednesday, 21 May 2008 16:41

May Day is Lei day in Hawaii, when Hawaiians celebrate island culture in general and native Hawaiian culture in particular. Representatives of the Hawaii Convention Center took their holiday to Chicago, bringing some Aloha to the Windy City as the venue’s personnel met with key clients and meeting planners in the Chicago area. In addition to sharing the spirit of Aloha, the team also shared information on the latest developments of the over $2 billion Waikīkī rejuvenation project as well as the many custom resources that Hawaii has to help them “globalize” their meetings. Pictured above, (left to right), Neil Mullanaphy, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, Hawaii Convention Center; John Nawn, Vice President, Education, Professional Convention Management Association and Joe Davis, General Manager, Hawaii Convention Center.  “Our presence allowed the Hawaii Convention Center to share and discuss information about Hawaii being a viable option for those looking to conduct successful meetings in a place that appeals to many of its members,” said Davis. “Over the last 10 years we’ve established a successful track record, have built relationships with repeat clients, and are proud of our reputation that proves Hawaii is a great place to conduct business. These are just the sort of events where our sales team can personally extend our Aloha. ”
