Al Hutchinson (left), Vice President of Convention Sales & Marketing, Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, was caught by Facilitiesonline’s roving NYC sidewalk photographer talking with Michael Caffin, Associate Publisher, the Facilities Media Group. Hutchinson, who recently entered the blog-o-sphere with his “Bring it to the Beach” Blog—entertaining & informative, the blog updates planners and other visitors on everything new & happening in the Virginia Beach area and the remarkableVirginia Beach Convention Center—says the destination will have some exciting new developments to announce in the next few weeks. For now, Virginia’s first certified-green Convention Center is gearing up for Groovy & Green, as in, “it’s time to get Groovy & Green.” An innovative program for meeting planners, June 4-5, sponsored by the CVB, the program features a bio-diesel coach that will transport Washington D.C.-area Meeting Planners to the Virginia Beach Convention Center, where a special educational program on green issues, sustainability, and how meetings can minimize their carbon foot prints will take place. Attendees can earn continuing educational units. The groovy part will be the 60’s/70’s themed bus ride, activities & events in Virginia Beach.
