In its annual tradition, the National Sales Educational Conference held by Benchmark Hospitality International, executives from the company participated on both a company-wide and personal level in Benchmark’s "Hometown Hospitality - Caring For Our Communities", a philanthropic program that includes employee volunteer projects, in-kind donations and community outreach activities resulting in responsible corporate citizenship. At the annual sales conference, held at The Heldrich in New Brunswick, New Jersey, 175 Benchmark Hospitality Sales, Marketing, and Home Office executives, along with the company’s General Managers, spent an afternoon of helping the New Brunswick community become a better place. The Benchmark Hospitality International team put on work gloves, divided into five teams, and went to work to help the New Brunswick community with five projects: constructing new shelves and shelving system for food product storage at the Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen; painting classrooms, stairwells and hallway at Elijah’s Promise Headquarters; assembling shelving and sorting, folding and storing clothing items at Elijah’s Promise Clothes Line; clearing, cleaning and reorganizing a storage area at the State Theater – New Brunswick’s renowned non-profit theatre and performing arts center; and repairing, replacing and painting ceiling tiles at the New Brunswick Puerto Rican Council Warehouse. "Our national sales force gathered at The Heldrich for a few days of learning, coming together as a sales team, and to celebrate the successes of the past year." said Eric Terry, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Benchmark. "Whenever we do so, we try to reach out to the local community where we are gathering to help with special projects they need accomplished but for one reason or another have been unable to complete."
