Good News! The Hawaii Convention Center is fully operational and open for business following Sunday’s earthquake. "Our operations team performed admirably post-earthquake and during the power outage," said Joe Davis, general manager. "There were no injuries and all of the Center’s business systems are operational."
Power was restored to the Center by 8:30 pm on Monday and according to all reports, there was no damage to the building.
The early morning quake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 6.6, was centered off the Kohala Coast on the western shore of Hawaii Island, known as the Big Island. There had been at least a dozen aftershocks, including one that measured 5.8. However, there were no reports of deaths or serious injuries. A full assessment of damage is expected later this week.

Winner of eight consecutive , and marketed and managed by SMG, the venue offers 49 meeting rooms totalling 103,610 square feet, 35,259-square-foot ballroom; 202,249-square-foot Exhibit Hall; 35,000-square-foot registration lobby two theaters 6,252 sq. feet with 472 seats, 4, 218 sq. feet with 320 seats; outdoor/rooftop function space complete with a tropical garden of native flora.
