July 20th is the 40th anniversary of man's first steps on the moon. Eight years after John F. Kennedy's inspirational speech, the hard work by thousands of Americans came to fruition on July 20, 1969, when Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong stepped out of the lunar module and took "one small step" that he called "one giant leap for mankind." The Moonrise Hotel, which opened in April in St. Louis, is celebrating the anniversary with the "Fly Me to the Moon" package in their Cosmic Jacuzzi Guest Room through August 31. The lunar-themed bundle of amenities includes a Moonrise Breakfast in the Eclipse Restaurant, two bottles of Blue Moon beer and two drink certificates for Tang-Tini's (a martini made with Tang, an orange flavored drink famously used by Gemini and Apollo Astronauts) redeemable at the Satellite Bar on the hotel's Rooftop Terrace, two famous Moonpies, and two tickets for "Fly Me to the Moon" appearing at the Omnimax Theatre at the St. Louis Science Center are included. With 125 guest rooms, 10 suites and 2,000 square feet of meeting space, the Moonrise Hotel is a full-service boutique & meeting hotel. Certain restrictions may reply.
