Lana Ostrander, Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, takes a call as Max Brown, Board Member, Washington Convention Center Authority, looks on. The representatives of the main meeting center in our Nation’s Capital paid a visit to Facilitiesonline to talk about the newly re-named venue. Formerly the Washington Convention Center, now the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year, features 2.3 million total square feet with over 700,000 square feet of prime exhibit space; 125,000 square feet of meeting space; nearly 70 meeting rooms; a 52,000 square foot ballroom featuring pre-function area with breathtaking panoramic views of the Washington, DC skyline, including the Capitol and the Washington Monument and 44,000 square feet of name brand restaurant and retail space. In addition to being centrally situated in D.C., Walter E. Washington Convention Center is conveniently located between two fun, fascinating neighborhoods—the historic Shaw / U Street District and the revitalized D. C. Downtown District, which boasts a growing number of restaurants and entertainment sites.
