L.A. Convention Center Hotel—the 54-Story ‘L.A. Live’ Hotel Tower Celebrates Topping Off

The 54-story "L.A. LIVE hotel", which includes the JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE and The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles hotel, celebrated its “Topping Off” ceremony with members of the community and the project’s union construction teams on site of L.A. Live—the $2.5 billion world-class sports, entertainment and residential district adjacent to the Los Angeles Convention Center, the Staples Center,, Club Nokia and the 7,100-seat Nokia Theatre L. A. Live. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jan Perry were on hand with Timothy J. Leiweke, president and CEO of AEG, developer of the project, to witness the milestone towards the completion of this $950 million hotel and residence tower which will be a 1,001-room convention “headquarters” destination for the adjacent Los Angeles Convention Center. The hotel is due to open in first quarter, 2010, all of the remaining venues and properties are set to open throughout December, 2008 and first quarter 2009.
