CHAIFETZ ARENA OPENS IN ST. LOUIS

The Chaifetz Arena at Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri held its official dedication ceremony on April 10. Holding the ribbon (left to right), are Darius Dunn, General Manager of Arena, Lawrence Biondi, S.J., President of Saint Louis University, Richard Chaifetz, M.D., Saint Louis University alumnus who made a $12 million naming gift to Saint Louis University, and John Page, Chief Operating, Global Spectrum, who manage the facility. The Chaifetz Arena has 10,600 seats in a single concourse, and also has 14 suites and two party suites, as well as a large club for dinners and parties. The University expects to host 90 to 100 events each year in Chaifetz Arena, including concerts, shows, trade shows, commencements as well as men’s and women’s basketball. The inaugural event takes place on April 11, when the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters bring their 2008 “Magic As Ever” World Tour to the Chaifetz. On April 25, Barry Manilow will perform the inaugural concert at the new arena with his will “Manilow: An Evening of Music and Passion.”
