Hyatt Regency Miami has been recognized for its environmentally friendly operations and is now a member of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program. The 612-room hotel, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2007 with $20 million in renovations, features more than 100,000 square feet of function space, including the elegant 12,000- square-foot Regency Ballroom and 28,000 square feet of exhibit space. “We are thrilled to achieve Green Lodging certification, first and foremost, because we are lessening our impact on the environment,” said Luis Aloma, General Manager. “Also, as the largest meetings and conventions hotel in the city, being green is essential to our business. Now more than ever, people are considering ecological impact before booking meetings, events and accommodations. We are pleased and proud that we now provide our outstanding service in an environmentally friendly setting.”
