The downturn had an upside for Detroit. Jay Leno and Kid Rock prepare to “keep it real” backstage prior to the first of Leno’s two free “Comedy Stimulus Tour” shows at The Palace of Auburn Hills on April 7 and 8, in which the rocker introduced the comedian to capacity crowds each night. Leno, a self-acknowledged “car guy,” came to the Motor City area to put on the free shows to provide a night of entertainment to the area’s unemployed and to those who have been affected by the state’s economic struggles. Parking was free at the events and guests received free sodas and snacks.
