Quebec will soon be the center for international healthcare. It has recently been announced that the Québec City Convention Centre will host the 2010 World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action Congress. An estimated 1500 delegates will attend this global meeting which covers a range of topics, including breastfeeding, pregnancy and delivery. In 2011, the Québec City Convention Centre will host the 5th CSSI (Cell Stress Society International) Congress on Stress Responses in Biology and Medicine. From August 23 to 27, more than 1,200 delegates will come to Québec City to discuss molecular and cellular biology. The Québec City Convention Centre won the bid for this event in large part due to Robert M. Tanguay, a researcher in cell and developmentalgenetics at Université Laval, in Québec City, who supported Quebec’s bid. International healthcare professionals have selected a venue up to the task of hosting these important conventions. Québec City Convention Centre has a total capacity of 7,500 attendees for exhibit-free conventions and 3 500 attendees for exhibit conventions (up to 410 booths); 232,000 square feet of usable space; 100,000 square exhibition space; 62,600 square feet of pre-meeting space; 35,000 square feet available for meetings and a Multimedia room with permanent integrated rear projection screen.
