Lewis Thompson, Banquet Captain of the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., has won the Employee of the Year award from the Hotel Association of Washington, D.C. for his heroic efforts in saving a choking guest.
Thompson began his career in 1977 as a dishwasher at the 544 room property and worked his way up to Banquet Captain. He’s known as a compassionate, devoted employee, who has had 100 percent attendance in the last 6 years, and has already received numerous awards from the hotel.
According to Brian Kelleher, general manager, Capital Hilton , this recognition from the Hotel Association for Thompson's skill and alertness was well deserved. "His quick thinking, training and attention to detail saved this woman’s life," said Kelleher. "We are very proud to have Lewis as part of our team, his dedication and passion for his work and for our guests is truly outstanding."
