The expanded Pennsylvania Convention Center is scheduled to open in March 2011, offering one million square feet of meeting and exhibition president. Jack Ferguson, who will assume the role of President & CEO of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau in January, is seen here leading a hard hat tour of the work in progress. All-Star Game Benefits Anaheim

Major League Baseball's 81st Mid-Summer Classic All-Star Game and festivities took place in Anaheim July 9-13. It was the third time Anaheim hosted the mid-summer classic, which saw the first National League win in 13 years. The destination helped facilitate several ancillary events, including a charity 5K run and Red Carpet Parade. There were an estimated 118,429 in attendance at this year's FanFest, held at theAnaheim Convention Center, which represented its fourth highest crowd in its 20-year history. About 200,000 people came to the city for the game and related events, resulting in an economic impact estimated at $85 million. This Fall MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tennessee unveil its 22,000 square-feet, state-of-the-art, executive conference wing , which includes venue will include two amphitheatres (a 60-seat and 150-seat, both U-shaped), two boardrooms (seating 30 people each), a conference room, a 5,000 square-feet ballroom and a two-story parking garage. The resort recently unveiled two new awe-inspiring 55-room towers, coinciding with the existing 195 room renovation project, garnering the resort 305 luxurious accommodations and the addition of a new indoor swimming pool, outdoor sun deck, hydrotherapy pool and fitness center boasting the latest cardio theater equipment. The resort is home to the Cattails at Meadowview championship golf course, a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, the Meadows Restaurant, outdoor fire-pit, and Starbucks. The new meeting space augments the destination’s existing 66,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
