In May, the Hampton Roads Convention Center introduced “Walls of Art,” an innovative program that both publicized regional artists and enriched the venue with a distinct ambience. The program consisted of showcasing regional artists by displaying artwork in the venue for a period of six months. Renamed “Halls of Art,” the new, expanded program opens on November 14. “We are extremely pleased that the Hampton Roads Convention Center is once again being used as an outlet to highlight the tremendously skilled artists that live in and around the Hampton Roads region,” said Lewis Dawley, General Manager, Hampton Roads Convention Center. “This time we will exhibit the work of 42 artists, almost double the amount from last May.” Located in Hampton, Virginia, in the center of the Hampton Roads Metropolitan Area, the Hampton Roads Convention Center boasts 35 meeting spaces with the capacity for up to 14,000 delegates, as well as a 108,000 square-foot exhibit hall (divisible by three) and is supported by more than 3,045 hotel rooms in close proximity, including the John Q. Hammons-owned Embassy Suites host hotel.
