The Clay County Regional Events Center—a VenuWorks managed facility in Spencer, Iowa—hosted NBC’s Nashville Star Live Tour in November. The show grossed over $74,000 with a total attendance of 2,200, one of the largest stops on the tour. The concert featured Local Hero Shawn Mayer, a 22-year-old from May City, Iowa.  Mayer finished third on the show, and performed with fellow Nashville Star contestants Coffey and Gabe Garcia, and the 2008 Nashville Star Melissa Lawson.
