An artist's rendering of "coast954," a Pop Up Place promoting Greater Fort Lauderdale that will pop up in Manhattan in January
The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) announced its 2007 marketing promotion designed to appeal to Generation X travelers and meeting professionals. The highlight of 2007 is coast954, an innovative "Pop-up Place" that will occupy a store in as yet undisclosed high-traffic location in New York City, the destination’s largest out of state market. The first of its kind for any travel destination, the "Pop-up Place" will attract younger, affluent New Yorkers to a trendy caf?-style locale, where they can learn about Greater Fort Lauderdale and buy vacation packages. Destination education components will be complemented by local guerilla marketing effort, as well as in-store enter-to-win sweepstakes. In addition, coast954 will host special evenings, including one targeting Meeting Planners. Read all about the new promotion HERE
