
Embassy Suites Columbus – Airport, which features the Embassy Suites Design Option III Prototype and Flying Spoons Restaurant has opened in Columbus, Ohio. The Embassy Suites Columbus – Airport is the area’s first full-service all-suites property built in more than nine years and is the third Embassy Suites in Columbus. The 198-suite hotel spans seven floors and features seven function rooms with almost 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting and pre-function space, complete with catering services and state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities. The hotel’s Design Option III design allows guests the same amenities as traditional Embassy Suites properties but is more cost effective and environmentally friendly, with its suites characterized by a more residential-feel. Flying Spoons is the “hip-casual” restaurant, mirroring part-European-style café and part-American coffeehouse, presenting guests with the option of a lighter fare and features fresh soups, salads and gourmet sandwiches, as well as more sophisticated dinner options like salmon, scallops and local flavors and specialties. he menu will also include a rotating selection of pastries and desserts, along with specialty coffees, teas and boutique soft drinks. “We are thrilled to expand our presence in Columbus, opening the third Embassy Suites, which will also be the third Design Option III prototype to open in the U.S.,” said Jim Holthouser, Global Head of Full-Service Brands, Hilton Hotels Corporation. “Roughly 75 percent of our development pipeline of 51 hotels is the Design Option III build, which has been well-received by both the development community and our guests.”
