Hawaii Convention Center Succeeds with 10th Anniversary Meetings Package

The Hawaii Convention Center announced that five new conventions have taken advantage of a new and innovative promotional package designed around the 10th anniversary of the venue. The 10th Anniversary Destination Package— worth $175,000 in promotional and destination programs is an Aloha to associations, organizations and other groups that is intended to persuade them to book the Hawaii Convention Center for future meetings with 2,500 delegates or more.

Bookings through this new package have been confirmed for: International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse (September, 2010); American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (April, 2011); Society of American Archeology (April, 2013); Society of Hospital Medicine (April, 2014); and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (June, 2017). The five new bookings represent over $72 million in future statewide spending along with nearly $7 million in tax revenue. The Hawaii Convention Center’s hotel partners will benefit with an estimated173,000+ booked rooms. The $175,000 in promotional and destination programs include the off-set in rent at the Center, pre-event promotions, inclusion of an international attendance building program or any other custom options specifically tailored for the client’s needs. “We are extremely happy that these groups took advantage of our 10th Anniversary Destination Package,” said Joe Davis, General Manager of the Hawaii Convention Center. “It is definitely a win-win situation for these groups and for the Hawaii Convention Center to be able to host them.”

The venue features 1.1 million square feet of total space, including a 35,000-square-foot lobby, 103,610 square feet of 10 executive meeting rooms a 35,259-square-foot ballroom,  a 204,249-square-foot Exhibit Hall with drive-in access and 2.5 acre landscaped rooftop terrace
