The multi-purpose Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids Michigan has found a way to leave the marketing as well as the driving "to us." The Rapid, Grand Rapids Mass Transit system and the Van Andel Arena have teamed up to wrap a bus in advertisements promoting specific events at Van Andel Arena images. The new bus will sport three rotating boards which will feature Van Andel Arena's upcoming events. "It's marketing that moves!" says Richard MacKeigan, Regional General Manager for Van Andel Arena. "We're jumping on board to try to encourage people to ride the bus more frequently. This is a great place to start." Last year, The Rapid provided over 8.1 million rides, an all-time high in public transportation trips in the greater Grand Rapids metro area. "It's a unique way for the Arena to promote its shows while encouraging patrons to use The Rapid to get to events," said Jennifer Kalczuk, External Relations Manager for The Rapid.
